Text no. 16 in the Codex Buranus is the poignant solo of a woman who has been deeply wounded. Either she has been robbed of all her possessions, or her misfortune is linked to a lost love. Who knows? This woman was right at the top, up on high, then she fell. Now she complains to Fortuna about the wounds (Vulnera) inflicted on her. The lament is represented by a free melisma, the choir has a short interlude. It too angrily accuses Fortune.
